Samsung Electronics has recently introduced the Moving Style Edge, a new display solution that emphasizes portability and flexibility—clearly aiming to rival LG’s StanbyMe in the growing market of mobile smart screens, but definitely not as portable as the StandbyMe 2. While the concept is not entirely new, Samsung’s take distinguishes itself by integrating its existing Smart Monitor M7 with a height-adjustable stand, offering a more adaptable experience for users.
The Moving Style Edge features a 32-inch VA panel with 4K resolution and a 60Hz refresh rate, delivering crisp visuals suitable for both entertainment and productivity. However, the standout feature is the included stand, which can extend up to 81 centimeters and allows the screen to rotate between landscape and portrait modes. This design is tailored for users who want the flexibility to move their screen between rooms and use it for various purposes—from streaming content to scrolling social media or video calls.
This isn’t Samsung’s first attempt at targeting lifestyle-oriented use cases. The concept follows earlier efforts with a 32-inch version of The Frame, intended for casual content consumption. With the Moving Style Edge, the focus appears to be more aligned with younger users and flexible living environments, as suggested by the product’s promotional materials.
Another notable aspect is that the stand isn’t limited to the bundled monitor. It can support screens up to 55 inches, allowing users to repurpose it with other compatible displays at home. This adds long-term value to the accessory, extending its usefulness beyond the original product.
On the technical side, the M7 monitor includes built-in Wi-Fi 5, stereo speakers (10W total), HDMI and USB ports, and runs on a full smart operating system with integration for Samsung’s SmartThings ecosystem. This means it functions not just as a monitor, but as a full-featured smart display.
The Moving Style Edge is currently available in South Korea for 879,000 KRW (approximately $680), a price that reflects the bundle of the M7 monitor with the adjustable stand. At the moment, Samsung has not confirmed whether the product will be released in other markets.
